Hello Golden Divas!

Oh, where did the time go? We’re at the home stretch of leaving the year of 2018; one more ‘Golden Diva Interview’ to go for the month of December. Who will it be? Who will be in the ranks of those beautiful divas to close out this memorable year?

Well you know I have to go out with a bang, just like I entered the year with a bang. Let’s recap shall we, this year I had some phenomenal trailblazers who set the bar very high in the categories of style and beauty, what to expect in your fifties, money, and work, a special edition, dating in your fifties, marriage and sex, and you know you should expect nothing less with my last golden diva interview.

So what better way to close out the year and celebrate these lovely ladies by dedicating the last “Golden Diva Interview” of 2018 to all of the phenomenal “Golden Divas” who opened up their hearts and gave up some of their precious time by inspiring and encouraging me and our Golden Diva sisters!

Here is a snippet of Club Fifty 2018 finest ladies….you can check out their interviews in its entirety by the category that they are speaking about…

January: Loretta Rogers (the encourager) Living The Golden Life!

C50: What motivates you every day to share your testimony with others?

LR: I am motivated to share my testimony because I have often felt alone and most people rely on my faith and strength to help them in their situation. I am always told by family and friends if anybody can do it, you can. Sometimes, I don’t want to I get tired too. However, I now know that it’s a part of my anointing and assignment to encourage and to motivate others. I am not alone because God says He would never leave me or forsake me. Additionally, I found it hard to forgive myself for bad life choices and feelings of failure and to fail God. The scripture below helped me to heal.

February: Donna Montgomery (the motivator) Money & Work

C50: What made you decide to start your own business at 50?

DM: For as long as I can remember, I have always had a curiosity for reading, a fascination with writing, and a keen eye and ear for detail.  Also, I have worked on a number of successful writing projects. In addition to that, my daughter, Tiffany, would always remind me, in so many words, that I should find my passion and live my true purpose. For these reasons, I decided to turn my passion and skills into a business opportunity.

March: Kendra Norman Holmes (the Pastor and Author) Sex & Marriage

C50: What is life like co-pastoring with your husband?

KNH: My husband, Michael, is proof of God’s promise. I never thought I’d love again after what I’d been through, but God took my broken heart, mended it, and made it stronger than ever. If someone had told me even five years ago that I’d be in this amazing place of joy and contentment in my life, I wouldn’t have believed it. Neither Michael nor I had ever aspired to be pastors. We had both been licensed in ministry for many years before we met back in 2013.

April: Juanita Nave (the singer) Dating in your Fifties

C50: What motivates you as a lead vocalist to continue to sing with your band after a hard day of work as a CPS teacher?

JN: The love of music motivates me to sing outside of my job as a CPS teacher. Music is a healer as well. I don’t know how I could keep going without my music. It keeps me balanced. The world of education these days can drive you crazy. I feel for those educators that do not have an outlet.

May: Everlean Eckols-Seals (my biggest supporter) A Mother’s Day Tribute To All of The Golden Divas!

This is a “Special Mother’s Day Tribute” to all of you and your wondrous works of“Motherhood!” I would like to start it off by giving the biggest shout out to my “FAVORITE GIRL” my mother, my ”Golden Diva” Everlean Eckols-Seals. The Godly one, the influencer, my biggest supporter, and my friend!

June: Michelle Appling Boyd (the high-end fashionista) Style & Beauty

C50: How much attention do you pay to fashion in the way you dress?

MAB: The attention I give to fashion is high because when I step outside my home, to the train, to the office, or to a meeting, your appearance is important and highly watched (whether we want to admit it).  Not every outfit is for the office or the club.  My attention is focusing on the setting of the day.

July: Jasmine Howard (the pre-diva blogger) Special Edition

C50: Tell us why did you decide to start a blog for young mothers and why the name MOM Voyage?

JH: I decided to start this blog as a way to share my real-life experiences and situations o connect with other mothers like myself. Not even just mothers, other people in general who feel the way I think about specific topics or situations that may arise. This is a new journey for me, and all new experiences. I want people to know that regardless of what you are going through in life, you’re never alone. So the name ‘MOM Voyage’ became very befitting because it goes with the theme of topics that I will be talking about on my blog.

August: Brenda Marie Love (second time around) Sex & Marriage

C50: What were some of the things you looked for in a mate this time versus the first marriage?

BML: I can’t say I looked for anything because I didn’t. But my main qualification was that he must love God and be an active participant in ministry, not just a churchgoer. All the intricate details as far as looks, career, finances, children, I told God about, and He delivered. I can say I TRULY trusted God on this one THIS TIME! HE DID NOT DISAPPOINT ME. He gave me more than I asked for.

September: Pearlie Mcclelland (the timeless beauty) Money & Work

C50: What are some valuable lessons you felt you have learned over the course of your career?

PM: I learned to live within my income and the value of good credit. Making meaningful sacrifice and being a good steward of all things; also I know the meaning of need and a WANT.

October: Etrenda Free (the fashion influencer) Style & Beauty

C50: Why does fashion play a big part in your life?

EF: I absolutely love fashion, I love to be different bold, eclectic and I have an array of styles. I am an artisan, so the style is limitless for me. I am that way with almost everything in my life my home, accessories, hair, clothes, shoes, makeup, etc. I have a vibrant personality, and it is so fun and exciting to me. Fashion should not be Boring.

November: Robin Garrett Moore (the golden girl) What to Expect in Your Fifties!”

C50: What can you expect in this decade?

RGM: I am excited about the next decade of my life! I spent the past decade growing and learning in many areas of my life, and I really love and like me. God revealed so much to me about myself. I have matured, pruned, and purged during the past decade so I am really looking forward to the results that will come forth. I expect greatness in this decade, and I am open to whatever and whomever (smile) God has for me!

So Golden Divas, the question is ‘Who Will Be Next?’ Who will close out Club Fifty Golden Diva Interviews for the year 2018 in December?
