How to Navigate and Stay Connected During the Coronavirus
Uncertain Times Call for Trusted Facts
Happy Wednesday, Golden Divas!
As the coronavirus pandemic upends work, travel, and home life, the rules are shifting for what people can and can’t do in their daily lives. The WSJ is continuously updating advice and information on how to stay safe, healthy, and connected, and how to help others. So, this brings me to ask my gorgeous divas, “How You Doin!” (In the catchphrase of Wendy Williams).
First thing first, how are you navigating during this pandemic ladies? Are you protecting yourself? I want to share some vital information from a very trusted Source, The Wall Street Journal.
The Key Elements of an Emergency Kit
If you or a family member gets infected with the coronavirus, you’ll likely have to ride it out at home. Most Covid-19 cases don’t require hospitalization, and as intensive-care beds fill, all but the most critical situations are being sent home. That means having the right supplies to nurse the ill patient and keep the rest of the family healthy. This is what the doctors at top hospitals all over the country include in their ideal Covid-19 home-care kit:
•Safety and cleaning. Isolation and cleaning supplies: bleach; face masks that cover nose and mouth (surgical masks, home-improvement masks or scarfs); gloves for entering a sick room and doing laundry (latex or nitrile rubber); hand sanitizer; laundry detergent (wash everything on hot); nail brush; paper towels; soap; tissues.
•Medicine. Medical supplies: cough drops; over-the-counter cold medicines; pulse oximeter and batteries (there is a pulse-oximeter app available for the iPhone, but none of the doctors we spoke to recommended it); saline nasal spray; thermometer; Tylenol/acetaminophen (children’s or infant’s versions if applicable).
•Food and drink. Nutrition supplies: chicken soup; daily multivitamin and vitamin C tablets; electrolyte-replacement drinks (if using sports drinks, cut in half with water); fresh ginger, lemons, dill, fresh or dried oregano; high-calorie, nutrient-rich foods like avocados; honey for throat soothing; pectin-rich foods like bananas and apples.
How Do Stay Connected with Family and Friends During the Coronavirus Pandemic!
Okay, we’re stuck at home, shelter in place, and social distancing ourselves from the world, and we learned to navigate through the COVID -19. We’re adhering to the rules, to stay healthy, and to stay alive; our human connection to socialize with friends and family has been compromised.
In an effort o prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, people all over the world are asked to stay inside and practice the rules of social distancing. We know what this entails, no more post-work happy hours, weekend birthday celebrations, dinner plans with a group, or seeing our friends who are not quarantining with you.
In the days of social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic, ladies, I know we might be bored, and we’re continually trying to think of things to do now that we’re spending more time at home. We miss family and friends’ visits; however, there are many ways around this torrid obstacle. Can you say, “Thank God for the internet.” With this ingenious tool, the sky is the limit to stay connected with family and friends.
This only means with the shelter in place and social distancing measures, we are forced to re-navigate how we feel close to and cared for by the people in our lives. Golden Divas, let’s unleash all of the possibilities, let your creative juices flow to stay connected with your family and friends.
