Happy New Year Golden Divas!
All Faith, No Fear!
My first post for the New Year was driven by a beautiful t-shirt that my sister made for me for Christmas. It was a quote on a black t-shirt with white writing, “All Faith No Fear.” Bam! This profound quote was a sign to motivate me and cast all of my worries aside. Although, I don’t think she knew the impact that this shirt will have on me; however the quote made me think about the dream that I wanted to pursue this year and to release whatever hesitation that I was holding onto for comfort NOT to seek it.
I mean really?! God has answered many of my dreams before, and I’m sure He will answer the one that I finally stop wrestling with now because I set all fear aside and gave it all to Him for His glory.
So, let’s kick off the New Year with some ‘Dream Building’ shall we. You know dreams like I want to be loved. I want to be fit. I want to have a job that makes me proud. I want to start my own business. I want to be married and start a family. I want a new house and a car. We all have hopes and dreams, but sometimes we take too little action to make them come true, because of fear and no faith.
I know you probably dreamed of pursuing your passion but was always coming up with excuses (I’m too busy, I’m not smart enough, etc.) that allowed you not to follow through. Let go of everything that might be holding you back and tell yourself; There are no other options. You’re just going to do it.
Ladies let’s kick FEAR out of our lives and usher in FAITH that God is going to manifest all of our desires and dreams this year.
Let’s create some new moments, new lessons, new challenges, and new opportunities, ladies. We have been blessed to cross over into 2019 ready to soar to make dreams come true.
Do you have a dream this year? You know an idea that you’re waiting to manifest where all of your faith has to be present, where fear does not have a chance to reside and linger. Did you have a dream that you pushed back for so many years because life has taken you in a different direction to pursue it?
If you did, it’s time to make it happen in 2019, if you don’t have a dream ask God for a dream and pray without ceasing to make it come true. Golden Divas just in case you’re wondering our age isn’t a factor this is our season to bloom. If you have any doubts, God is the source of all of our dreams, and He will provide all of the resources necessary to fulfill our dreams. So no idea is too small or too big for God to bring forth.
You never know where your dreams may take you, there are a lot of things in the world yet to be seen and experienced with your name on it. In 2019 let’s live our lives to the fullest, learn something new, explore new horizons, and go forth on new adventures this New Year.
Let’s abandon all worries, doubts, and fears that our dreams won’t come to pass. If you’ve prayed to God and asked Him to give you an idea have enough faith in Him to deliver it to you.
Gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard song ‘I’m Getting Ready’ says it all.

Don’t let these ten things hold you back
1. You’re afraid. Fear is one of life’s biggest paralyzers. Most people, myself included, are afraid of failing, but remember that many wildly successful people with amazing ideas failed before they succeeded. Sitting at home and being fearful of something that might happen (or might not happen) won’t get you anywhere. Face your fear, or embrace it, then let it go.
2. You don’t have enough money to afford it. Ask yourself: When will you have enough money? Even if you win the lottery, will that be enough money for you to quit and follow your dreams? It might not. Consider getting a small loan from a family member or bank to help fund your new business or invest in that camera you’ve been eyeing.
3. You don’t have time. It feels like everyone is so incredibly busy these days that no one has time for anything. No time for vacation, no time for family dinner, no time for reading books. However, you make time for the things that you love, so you have to find the time, even if it is just 15 minutes a day, for doing what makes you happy. Remind yourself that if you’re busy now, you’ll probably continue to be busy later, so set aside time for your dreams today.
4. You don’t know how to do it. You may fantasize about opening a restaurant, a breakfast and lunch spot that sells beautiful bouquets of flowers alongside healthy grain salads and sandwiches made with roasted meats. But then you quickly think you could never do that! Why? Because you don’t know how to open a restaurant. However, worrying about not knowing how to do it is a waste of time. Instead, learn how to open a restaurant. Go to your favorite restaurant and set up an informational interview with the owners. Ask how they got started and if they have any tips for opening a restaurant. Meet with an experienced pro and make that person your mentor.
5. You lack a plan. Not having a plan should not keep you from pursuing your passion. Make time to make a plan, then start to take the steps toward achieving your goal.
6. You want to put your family first. Being a good spouse or parent doesn’t mean that you have to give up your individual dreams. Talk to your family and explain that you’ll be happier in pursuing your passions. Ask them to be your support system while you attempt to reach your goal. Invite them to be a part of the process, and make them feel special by being one of your confidants.
7. You’re following societal norms. You’re 52 and you’ve finally realized that you want to become a nurse practitioner, but this requires that you go back to school, and it will be years before you can start working at a hospital. Society says you shouldn’t quit your stable tech sales job and start a different career, especially one like nursing that requires extensive schooling, but really, who cares? It’s your life: Live it the way you want to. You should be congratulating yourself for finally deciding to pursue your passion!
8. You don’t think you are good enough. A lack of confidence in yourself could be holding you back. Speak to a close friend or visit a therapist to get to the root of these feelings. What makes you not good enough to pursue your passion? You don’t drive the right car? You don’t know the right people? These are just excuses that are stopping you from moving forward.
9. You’re still searching for your passion. It can take years for people to discover their true passion, and if you have yet to figure out what makes you happy, don’t fret. Think about what you used to love doing as a child, and try to figure out the things that spark true joy inside you. Chances are you know what you want to do; you’re just not ready to face it.
10. You don’t think you deserve it. Everyone deserves happiness, even you! If doing what you love is going to make you happy, you deserve it and you should—you must—pursue it.
Now Divas, I know fulfilling our dreams isn’t easy and it never will be, but ladies all of those reasons mean nothing because we have a secret weapon and His name is GOD! Let’s do the inverse on this simple quote: “Seeing Is Believing” instead let’s do “Believing is Seeing.”
“All Faith No Fear,” Golden Divas, let’s believe that God is going to show up and show out in our behalf as long as we have all faith in Him. Let’s get motivated, stop procrastinating, stop stressing, stop settling for less, and keep all naysayers far from our dreams.
