CULLUD WATTAH
Flint, Michigan, has become synonymous with the water crisis of 2014. The Flint water crisis is an artificial public health crisis (April 2014–June 2016) involving Flint, Michigan’s municipal water supply system. As a result, tens of thousands of Flint residents were exposed to dangerous levels of lead, and outbreaks of Legionnaire disease killed at least 12 people and sickened dozens more.
The problem started when officials decided to switch the water supply from the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department to the Karegnondi Water Authority to save money for the economically struggling city. But, before that connection could be built, the city turned to the Flint River as a temporary water source.
The problem is still going on eight years later.

Club Fifty ‘Highly Recommend’ that you check out ‘Cullud Wattah’ at Victory Gardens. This production is a must-see play that is riveting, well played, and well-acted by five powerful women.
