Welcome To the Fan Club Golden Divas!

The Fan Club is an elite club established for the strong, brave, and the few divas who can take the extreme unwanted heat. This club is so unique due to the particular qualifications you must possess, and only a few good women will survive the overall changes their body will experience when they become a member.  

So what is The Fan Club you may ask?

“The Fan Club” is a group that is dedicated to “Golden Divas” using a delicate device to stay cool while going through their golden years of life while facing the one side effect that they wish they can get rid of in a blink of an eye.

Now, this Fan Club is a well-known person, YOU, my lovelies and it consists of unwanted “HOT FLASHES” at any given moment with some bothersome symptoms and the qualifications needed to join are unfortunate because you are experiencing perimenopause or menopause.

BREAKING NEWS GOLDEN DIVAS if you are feeling a sudden warmth that spreads throughout your face and upper body, rapid heartbeat, upper body perspiration and a

flushed appearance characterized by red, blotchy skin…WELCOME TO THE FAN CLUB because the fan is the next best thing to have if you cannot get to the nearest freezer to cool off.  

Golden Divas the above are all symptoms of hot flashes, according to Mayo Clinic and they usually subside in just a few minutes however they do vary widely in frequency. Some women such as myself experience many hot flashes per day, while others may have only a few.

Hot flashes tend to occur during the nighttime hours, and women who have hot flashes usually experience them for greater than a year. However, it is said, that hot flashes usually go away on their own within 4 to 5 years of their onset. Good Lord, I sure hope so.

Ladies, have you ever noticed the intricacy of a beautiful and delicate handheld personal fan? Probably not! You’ve probably never paid too much attention to this paper-light material that the fan is made of, but I’m sure you have noticed the beautiful designs of the numerous fans out there and how useful it is when you are having a hot flash. 

I know I have when I set in envy waiting to cool off. Last Sunday I was sitting in church, and I took notice of the multitude of women pulling out their beautiful fans. At first, I thought it must be sweltering in the sanctuary, and then I noticed the ages of the women who were fanning themselves trying to stay cool and I realized they’re going through their personal summer moment. 

As I joined the ladies fanning (because I was going through my personal summer as well) to try to stay cool myself, one of my stylish “Golden Divas” sitting behind me said welcome to “The Fan Club!” I couldn’t help but laugh because the members of this club are desperately trying to reset their hormonal levels by cooling it down with something as simple as a fan. 

Ladies, I dubbed this as a great title “The Fan Club” for this post and women going through menopause because my hormones are still off the charts. There have been times that I was truly feeling my look for the day and then suddenly out of nowhere I’m hot and bothered. Not in the way that I would love to be with my hormones; however I have realized that a handheld fan has indeed become my best friend and it must be in my purse at all times.

Now ya’ll know this stuff is serious Golden Divas so don’t leave home without your fan!

I have seen so many beautiful fans swaying back and forward in an effort to cool us down over the past two years and YES my beautiful fan (which was given to me as a gift from one of the ladies at my church) does provide comfort as my hormones reset themselves.   

Here’s a refresher regarding the fan.

A handheld fan is an implement used to induce an airflow for the purpose of cooling or refreshing oneself. Any broad, flat surface waved back-and-forth will create a small airflow and therefore can be considered a rudimentary fan. Generally, purpose-made handheld fans are shaped like a sector of a circle and made of a thin material (such as paper or feathers) mounted on slats that revolve around a pivot so that it can be closed when not in use.

The movement of a handheld fan provides cooling by increasing the airflow over the skin, which in turn increases the evaporation rate of sweat droplets on the skin. It also increases heat convection by displacing the warmer air produced by body heat that surrounds the skin. This evaporation has a cooling effect due to the latent heat of evaporation of water. Fans are convenient to carry around, especially folding fans.

Whoever invented this beautifully crafted device had women going through the change in their mind, and I for one genuinely appreciated them!!

Thank God for the handheld fan Golden Divas it has saved my look for that day, and it kept me sane for not snapping off!!! LOL!
