Old Ways Won’t Open New Doors
STUCK ON YOU!!
Hello Golden Divas!
Did you know Old Ways Won’t Open New Doors?
If you’re not sure what the statement means “Old Ways Won’t Open New Doors” let me explain.
Ladies, if you just keep doing the same thing for the rest of your life nothing new is going to come into your life until you change it (relationships, finances, careers). You get the point.
Let’s change the narrative of our life story and be about change. Opening new doors are to try new things to not always do the same things.
When I think of opening a new door I think of when new opportunities come into my life, you can take it and do something with it that can have either a positive outcome or a negative one but either way you took a chance and it changed you.
Ladies, this statement made me think about being stuck and opening new doors for opportunities it literally made me think about Lionel Richie, he made a song called “Stuck On You” back in 1984. Clearly you can see he stepped out of his comfort zone to go from his original genre of R&B music to a song with country-pop music influence. As shocking as it was, he took a risk and it paid off quite handsomely, peaking at number 24 on the country chart and number one on the adult contemporary chart.
You do know the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?
Let’s get out of the stuck mode shall we and shift gears so that we can propel and move to the next level in life. Change is inevitable. I come to the conclusion that it is better to seek it out than let it find you. At least this way you are in control of your future.
So how about trying something new Golden Divas?
Ladies for me, it looked a little like this:
Old ways = Guilt, hesitation, self-doubt, behavior I knew was unproductive at best and destructive at worst, holding a grudge, holding my breath, being generally paralyzed by fear.
New ways = Embracing change, valuing myself, remembering that I have choices and feeling empowered to make them, learning to say “no” with grace so I can say “oh, hell, yes!” with enthusiasm, breathing in compassion and breathing out love.
How about you? If you were to paint a picture of “old” and “new” — or perhaps “current” and “aspirational” — what words might you use Golden Divas?
