Ladies Know Your Self- Worth!!

If  You Don’t No One Else Will!

Happy Wednesday Golden Divas!

It can be hard out here for a “Golden Diva’ to be fabulous at times. Life can get in the way, and we may start doubting ourselves and our essence of being a woman; especially on the other side of fifty.

This WCI (watercolor inspirations) post is dedicated to all of my sisters who may be caught up in their feelings about how they allowed the world to view them or how they see themselves. There are so many words to describe how we feel about ourselves, how we think about ourselves, and how we act toward ourselves.

Having a sense of self-worth means that you value yourself and one thing for sure we should never let anyone devalue our self-worth. Unfortunately, we do when we allow someone to diminish the light within us. So, let me explain to you why it is so vital for you to know what ‘Self-Worth’ means.

“Golden Divas remember self-worth is at the basis of our very selves—our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are intimately tied into how we view our worthiness and value as a human being. “

How to Increase Self-Worth and Value

First, take a look at the list of what does NOT determine self-worth.

  • Bank account
  • Job title
  • Attractiveness
  • The number of followers has nothing to do with how valuable or worthy of a person you are.

It can be so easy to get bogged down into money, status, and popularity—especially when these things are so highly valued by those around us and by society in general.

Ladies let’s make an effort to take a step back and think about what truly matters when determining a person’s worth:

  • Their kindness
  • Compassion
  • Empathy
  • Respect for others
  • How well they treat those around them

Second ladies to create more self-worth you have to get out of your head. Yes, you read that correctly! Divas start working on the following:

  • Identifying
  • Challenging
  • Externalizing your critical inner voice

We all have an inner critic that loves to nitpick and point out our flaws. It’s natural to let this inner critic get the best of us sometimes, but if we let her win too often she starts to think that she’s right and we can’t have that!

I mean seriously we are our own WORST CRITIC!! I’m going to knock myself down before anyone else gets a chance to do it! This is so wrong…but so true for so many of us.

Recognize Your Self-Worth Golden Divas!

Once you understand yourself, accept yourself, and love yourself, you will reach a point where you no longer depend on people, accomplishments, or other external factors for your self-worth.

At this point, the best thing you can do is recognize your worth and appreciate yourself for the work you’ve done to get here—as well as continuing to maintain your self-understanding, self-acceptance, self-love, and self-worth.

To recognize your self-worth, remind yourself that:

  • You no longer need to please other people
  • No matter what people do or say, and regardless of what happens outside of you, you alone control how you feel about yourself
  • You have the power to respond to events and circumstances based on your internal sources, resources, and resourcefulness, which are the reflection of your true value
  • Your value comes from inside, from an internal measure that you’ve set for yourself

Golden Divas, let’s meditate on these watercolor quotes of inspiration as we continue to strengthen our self-worth daily.
