I am bringing the fall season in with style and beauty this October. Have you ever met a ‘FASHION INFLUENCER’ someone who dares to be different and is always on point from head to toe from clothes to accessories?

Stuff you will never think about matching together and wearing, and then you see how this diva pulled it off. You know the diva that always seems confident in what she is wearing, and you secretly wish you were bold enough to wear it like that.

Well, you’re going to meet this diva today. This young lady has a very independent-mind, she has a unique sense of style, vision, and creativeness. She loves being adventurous and believes in the ‘power of jewelry and accessories’ to express insights, emotions, and meaning far beyond the initial perceptions of beauty and craftsmanship.  We, divas, know jewelry can spark a conversation; especially those beautiful statement pieces.

Ladies, let’s call it what it is with this golden diva today, she has style in every sense of the word. Some people are born with it, some people create it, and some people bring it out in other people, and yes this young lady holds all three.

You know the statement. “You are what you eat” in the fitness world, well…in the fashion world according to this diva, “You are what you wear,” and I agree wholeheartedly!

Today I’m talking with Etrenda Free, the golden diva who is always dressed for the occasion with stylish fashion choices that represent and makes a bold statement. Whether it’s on a romantic date night with her hubby Mr. Robert Free, flowing at church to hear the WORD of the Lord, going to work in downtown Chicago, or hanging out with her sisterhood circle of girlfriends, this young lady is showcasing her different style of hair, jewelry and fashion with class and a lot of sassiness.

“Etrenda’s Fabulous Classy and Sassy Things: “What a Woman Want” and “What a Diva Needs!” 

I have known the girl with the unique name ‘Etrenda’ for almost three decades now, and I had the pleasure of meeting this diva at First Chicago Bank back in 1989, and even then she was rocking some styles ahead of time. Although, I have five years on this beauty and she is not officially a ‘Golden Diva’ (50 plus) I had learned a lot from her when it came to fashion.

I watched her style evolve up close and from afar, and I must say she is the one to watch out here in Chicago. Sure we have lots of women holding it down on the fashion catwalk of life (you divas know every time we step out the door the world is our runway) but this one right here is the real deal when it comes to getting your hustle and grind on for what you are passionate about.

Later for ‘The Grand Hustle’ or ‘The Boston Hustle’ whatever new television show that is out there, this go-getter with the unstoppable grind for making divas of all ages sensational is our very own ‘Chicago Fashion Hustle Diva’ and she is making it happen just about everywhere you go around the city.

Her determination, of doing her so stylish and chic has inspired me to invite her to come in the red door at Club Fifty, and sit at the style and beauty bar, where it proves that success can be attained as long as you have a dream to do the work you can soar high. Looking fabulous of course!

Without further ado let me introduce to you Etrenda Free, where the spotlight is shining on her for October at Club Fifty. 

She is a wife, mother, ex-co-worker, friend, businesswoman and a fashion stylist for so many women.

Hello, my name is Etrenda Free. I am 47 years old, and I am the owner of “Etrenda’s Fabulous Sassy and Classy Thing’s.” I am married to my devoted husband, Robert Free Jr.

I have four children 1 of which is my daughter who attends Jackson State University and three additional children by marriage.  I am the youngest of my four siblings. I have worked for JPMorgan Chase for 28 years.  I enjoy making accessories, working my business, working out, shopping, traveling, living my best life and spending time with my lovely family and friends. I am truly a living testimony of what GOD can and will do!! 

I will stay on this journey will the help and direction of my God. My goal is to own an accessory Boutique store.

IN CONVERSATION WITH ETRENDA FREE

C50: Hey Girl, since I have known you, you have been a fashionista tell us who inspired your fashion style? 

EF: I am artistic and love to be different. I am passionate about fashion. My mom and sister introduced me, and I never let go. Accessories are my love. Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about jewelry.  It is flirty, classy, sexy, and exciting to me. It can inspire and add personality to any clothing ensemble. It also can complete and bring any outfit to life.

C50: Why does fashion play a big part in your life?

EF: I absolutely love fashion, I love to be different bold, eclectic and I have an array of styles. I am an artisan, so style is limitless for me. I am that way with almost everything in my life my home, accessories, hair, clothes, shoes, makeup, etc. I have a vibrant personality, and it is so fun and exciting to me. Fashion should not be Boring.

C50: Do you feel that women should approach fashion differently when they hit a certain age? 

EF: Yes and no. There are boundaries and age appropriateness for certain fashion. Also just because they make your size does not mean it is for you.

We should wear fashion, that compliments and work for us. You work it; it should not work you. However, the beauty is within, and the fashion piece compliments the age. I say go for it and allow the Fashionista within to embrace you in an appropriate and jazzy way.

C50: What is the one suggestion that you can give women of a certain age to embrace when it comes to fashion? 

EF: Beauty is within, and not measured by age.  No matter what age we should always embrace who we are. We are beautiful, bold, different; we are individuals which GOD has designed us to be.  Beauty is so deep-rooted and is exemplified inside and outside, so be the Beautiful You!! Wear the things that compliment you. Wear the things that work for you, and wear it well!

C50: What made you decide to start your own business selling jewelry? 

EF: This has always been a part of me, fashion, style and daring to be different. I am vibrant and bold. I am passionate about what I do, so what better thing to do than to offer a beautiful experience to my sisters and queens. God did something extra special for me in my healing, which allowed me to activate in my gift, share my testimony and showcase talent.

C50: Why Etrenda’s Fabulous Sassy and Classy Things

“What a Woman Want” and “What a Diva Needs?” Why is it so different from others selling jewelry?

EF: It is art! It is creative, it speaks to a sense of uniqueness and expresses style and boldness. 90 percent of it is made with Labor of Love so it different, signature pieces that were created and designed by myself. 

C50: When it comes to expressing yourself do you think your wardrobe should make a statement?

EF: Absolutely you are what you wear your ensemble can speak volume and most times express your personality.  

C50: How long does it take for you to put all of your fabulosity together every morning?

EF: Generally not long, however, my daily activity varies. I make a decision accessorize, and I am ready to go.

C50: What is the must-have jewelry piece and piece of clothing that you can recommend for our Golden Divas this fall?

EF: Fall is fun!! You can really get into fashion with fall, be expressive, wear boldness, and statement pieces. They are everything and can add personality to any wardrobe ensemble.

Camouflage is Haute this fall, earthly bold colors, ruffles, plaids and of course styles are endless there are no boxes to live in. DO YOU!!
