9 Things Every Woman in Her 50s Should Do!

OMG!!  A Change Is Gonna To Come!

Did anyone experience these annoying things when they turned 50? It’s hot in here…why am I the only one feeling the heat? Gasp…is that a chin hair? What the heck where are all of these gray hairs coming from?

Seriously, are my eyebrows thinning out? Why am I so tired all of the time? Okay, you have to be freaking kidding me is that a wrinkle? And my personal favorite…What’s up with all of this weight gain?

Am I the only one going through the dreaded change?

Yep, that basically summed up my entry into the 50’s club. I was all over the place my emotions were so unbalanced I found myself crying over a dog commercial.

As you can see last year was like taking a station identification break from my life as I once knew it. Now a year later I’m back to our regular program of living again. My first year was mind boggling it was filled with a lot of surprises and what the…(you fill in the blank) aha moments.

The girl that seemed to be always in control was so out of control, out of touch with her mind and body and her inner well-being. Personally, I really felt that my life was out of order. Every day I discovered something new, felt something unfamiliar and I simply didn’t like the metamorphosis that was taking place.

What a difference a year makes!

All I can say is “Thank You Jesus” I made it through my first year of the 50’s Club. That was then and this is now.

⇐⇐⇐Look at how happy I am in this picture.

I just recently celebrated my 51st birthday and I had a blast. Things are looking a lot better, now that I know what I am dealing with. Yes, some things had definitely changed in my life, from the physicality of my appearance to the way I started to process day to day endeavors in my life.

So…What Happened?

I changed my mindset and started to embrace the changes and challenges that awaited me in this new chapter in my life. Don’t get me wrong I’m still going to fight aging every step of the way. Just in a different way.

After all, life is all about transformation and if we don’t change we won’t grow… Right?

Get ready…get ready…get ready because there are a lot of changes that are going to take place in your fifties because they are inevitable!

So…let’s talk about them so we can get back to being FABULOUS!!!

Well, Diva’s here are some key factors you really need to stay up on and pay close attention to in addition to the ones I mentioned earlier in this post because things are bound to change.

Early prevention of the changes that are about to come is the key to living the golden life and just like the Fifth Harmony song “Worth It” it will be worth YOU taking a look at how you can implement these 10 factors into your life.

What to Expect in Your 50s

  1. Save Your Skin
  2. Preserve Your Senses
  3. Motivate Your Metabolism
  4. Bone Up for Good Health
  5. Keep Your Heart Strong
  6. Improve Your Sex Life
  7. Ramp Up Your Immunity
  8. Take Fewer “Nighttime Trips”
  9. Be Happy
  10. Stay Sharp

Of course, we will go into more details about these topics in some of my other posts because they are worth paying special attention to, but as for now, we are going to pay some attention to the following.

There are 9 things every woman in her 50s should be doing according to “Prevention” magazine.

The Golden Life

“Golden Divas” you should have a simple plan to make this decade of your life your happiest and healthiest.

Let’s take a look at 9 things that are a MUST that we should be doing NOW!

  1. Get enough sleep
  2. Eat more salads
  3. Have more fun in the bed
  4. Take your multi-vitamins
  5. Add good bacteria to your diet
  6. Write what you eat
  7. Exercise for your brain
  8. Pay it forward
  9. Get essential check ups

This sounds simple enough to get us on the road of feeling our best on the other side of 50. So, I strongly suggest you Divas check this out because “Prevention” magazine offers some great tips.

Like #9 in addition to making health- and brainpower-boosting habits a part of your lifestyle, don’t neglect these tests:

  • Eye exam: Every 2 to 4 years
  • Blood pressure: Every 2 years
  • Pap test and pelvic exam: Every 1 to 3 years
  • Thyroid: Every 5 years
  • Mole check: Every year
  • Mammogram: Every 1 to 2 years
  • Blood glucose: Every 3 years starting at age 45
  • Fecal occult blood test: Yearly
  • Colonoscopy: Every 10 years
  • Sigmoidoscopy: Every 5 years starting at 50 (can skip on colonoscopy)

If we can keep it real here at Club Fifty we know as strong women we tend to let life get in the way of our health. We seem to always put ourselves last and everyone else first that is why it so important that we take care of our health especially now that we are in our fifties.

Ladies what was one of your favorites in the “Simple Plan List” from Prevention magazine?
