10 Things YOU Should Embrace Quickly!
From The Desk of Brenda Fay
Golden Divas, I hope you had a fabulous 4th of July holiday. I’m sure you did because you were hanging out with family and friends getting your party on while eating the best of the best barbecue and other delectable treats.
However, I wanted to take time out to say “Living the Golden Life” on the other side of 50 with you has been a pleasure. I truly wish all of my Golden Divas well on this journey that we’re traveling on together called life, mid-life, menopause life, change of life, whatever you want to call it because it can be very challenging to say the very least. That is why it is so important for me to say thank you for being so transparent and sharing your truths with me and others.
One of my favorite mottos is and will always be “We’re in this together!” You see your feedback and contributions to my blog has helped me to grow as an individual to find my inner strength and to continuously help others. It allowed me to develop a sisterhood with my fellow like-minded beautiful Divas to stay encouraged and to continue to live my life like it’s golden. Since we share the same goals of building one another up and not tearing one another down, it propels me to learn more from my sisters as well as to share more with you.
Learning to accept where we are at this stage in our lives is imperative living on the other side of 50 because we’re discovering something new every day about ourselves. That is why it is so important to stay happy and healthy (and believe me this is not a Walgreens shout out… it’s our truth) during this period of our lives because as you know our mind and bodies are constantly changing.
So, let’s ‘spill the tea’ on some of the topics we have discussed in the first quarter of Club Fifty.
Over the past few months, we have covered the following things that came with the great gift of menopause and good Lawd we had some juicy information that we’d shared with one another regarding the following topics…
- Hot Flashes
- Loss of Hair
- Insomnia
- Weight Gain
- Mood Swings
- Eating Healthy
- Sex & Marriage
- Dating In Your Fifties
- Getting and Staying Fit
- Style & Beauty
- What to Expect In Your Fifties
If you haven’t already read any of the above posts feel free to double back and check them out, there’s a lot of relatable, inspiring, reliable information to assist you with living the golden life you so deserve.
As you can see we have covered a lot in a short amount of time and we have a lot more to cover in the near future at Club Fifty to stay FAB-U-LOUS Golden Divas!
So, ladies, this is a reminder post on how to live the golden life on the other side of 50!
Golden Divas here are 10 Things YOU should embrace quickly!
1. You have transitioned from conforming to this world to owning who you really are
2. You self-reflect to what is important in life and you don’t sweat the small stuff
3. You accept yourself because you learned to love yourself (that new figure from weight gain, natural highlights, and menopause)
4. You are FREE and liberated (you really don’t care about being so perfect in the eyes of others anymore)
5. You have gained more wisdom and experience in the world
6. You feel self-assured, comfortable, and poised to live life to the fullest.
7. You see the world as a new horizon of new challenges (and believe me you will have some challenges)
8. You see your purpose in life beyond your spouse and children
9. You accept the gradual changes of what life dealt you (turn those lemons into lemonade)
10. Finally looking back at 1-9 you see that you are grateful, blessed, and determined to age gracefully in this new decade of life!
Remember we are unapologetically 50+ and we’re going to take these 10 rules and continue to live our lives like it is golden!!
So Golden Divas in the tone that Wendy Williams will use….”HOW YOU DOIN?”

Well I found this absolutely refreshing. Yes, it can be very difficult as you estchbthe subtle and not so subtle changes which take place as you are in your 50’s. The key is to embrace it gracefully.
Hi Saundra,
I totally agree with you, we have to take the good with the bad and persevere through it all. Thanks for your comment!
